PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
What's your background?
After reading Business Studies I moved out to Delhi for two years working for Titania Tents making Rajasthani tents, and block print fabrics. On the ground designing and producing these beautiful tents and block prints I fell in love with India and its vibrant fabrics, crafts and culture. As a company we moved back to London and paired with an events company where I sourced fabric and trinkets from afar for wonderful parties before joining Supplycompass.
What do you do at Supplycompass?
I guide brands through their production process from start to finish. It's incredibly fulfilling meeting a brand at the beginning with a pipeline idea and then helping to guide them through the manufacturing process delivering the finished product at the end.
I love seeing how their customers react to the finished products, its so great helping to create something people love.
What's good design for you?
Something that is made incredibly well and will last for years. I only buy things I can see myself loving in 10 years time, so excellent quality and durability is good design for me.
Most loved possession?
An antique Indian miniature painting of Hanuman on a necklace given to me for my 21st.
Penguin classics. All my favourite books, and they look so beautiful stacked beside each other with their orange and white striped covers.
Favourite place to spend an afternoon in London
I love going up to Hampstead for a swim in the wild ponds. We do it through from February to October, its so cool getting too swim alongside the kingfishers and all the other beautiful wildlife.
What motivated you to join Supplycompass?
After working both in India and London manufacturing products, I was always struggling to find reliable, ethical and good quality manufacturers. One day when venting my struggles to a friend they pointed me towards Supplycompass. I loved the concept so much and the transparency given to the supply chain that I immediately applied for a job.
What three skills do you bring to Supplycompass?
Textiles, Basic Hindi, Marketing.
What have you learnt from living in India?
Always beep your horn.
Is there anywhere else you’d like to source from?
The possibilities are endless and I love exploring different countries and manufacturing methods. There are a lot of cool fabrics coming out of Uzbekistan at the moment so I think it would be awesome to go and explore textile manufacturers there.Read more Interviews
